Racing games are a popular breed on the AppStore, with hundreds popping up every week. Whether they're top of the range like
Real Racing, or completely different such as
Cube Rally Racer, they've done justice for the iPhone. I-Play have chipped in to the pile, recently releasing several
The Fast and the Furious titles.

Another developer I had the chance to catch up with was one of the creators of N.Y.Zombies, a 3D first-person shooter than had impressed thousands of iPhone users worldwide. They reached the top ten charts a number of times with it's gruesome graphics for the hordes of zombies introduced in the game. Whilst the controls was a slight let-down for some players, everything else seemed to cover it up.
They're now creating another game and this time it's got nothing to with horror. They're on a mission to complete a dual-stick shooter, Bug Heroes, which they also claim is a RPG-styled tie-in. Some artwork can be found to the right of what the models should look like in-game.

Not more than two weeks ago had the AppStore experienced one of the most horrifying game to have ever been made for the iPhone. We've had quite a few zombie-killing titles and a horror app here and there, but none come as close as Hidden Games' best project -
Prisoner 84. Exactly 6 months ago had they started work on their self-set task. Both main game designers, John Murray and Gareth West, asked themselves what type of a game they could achieve in just half a year.
They chose a third-person shooter, a horror game and blocky characters, all of which game to an amazing success. Early impressions praised the game as much as they could, most of which finished the story mode in under 3 hours and continued to play it once more. I've managed to get hold of Gareth to ask him a few questions about
Prisoner 84 and the iPhone as whole.

Lately I've managed to catch up with the developers of the ever-famous Hockey title - The Hockey Experiment. It's one of the very few full hockey titles on the AppStore where NinthDimensionStudios have taken a slightly cartoon-style route. It's raked in quite a lot of high ratings but has yet to accede in the charts.
I've asked them a few question which they've gratefully answered in quite some depth. Check out the full interview below:

When
Foursaken Media first introduced their names in the iPhone gaming world via a preview of their horror game, they knew that the iPhone was the right platform to go with. Joining many other developers, they're continuing that route with their upcoming second release for the AppStore, but this time they're having a go at a dual-stick shooter -
Bug Heroes.
They've dubbed it as an RPG-styled game with a few castle-defense elements - three of the most-loved genres in the AppStore. They all work well on the iPhone platform, so this should work seamlessly too. The trailer below gives a short oversight of the gameplay; although no real gameplay footage is notable:

I recently had the chance for an interview with Joaquin Marcelo, the main motion capture actor of the game "Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior." The game is a joint project between Digital Legends and Indiagames, is already out for the iPad, and will be released very soon for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Joaquin Marcelo started studying martial arts at the age of six. In 1993 was the first person outside the United States to be accepted by Ted Wong as a private student. He owns currently a 3rd degree of Jeet Kune Do certificate by Wong, being the everlasting student in Europe.
Marcelo was in the past also student of teachers such as Ed Parker, Jerry Poteet, Dan Lee, Ted Lucaylucay or Tim Tackett amongst others. Also, between 1988 and 1991 he trained in the Inosanto Academy from Dan Inosanto, being one of the very few to “ be fed” from the knowledge of the two principal sources of JKD in the world.

We're nearly at the end of our whole load of interviews over the past two weeks, so to top it off we've interviewed
Josh Presseisen - the graphics director of Crescent Moon Games about a couple of upcoming projects.
One of them, as many of you iPhone gamers out there should know, is the sequel to one of the best role-playing games out on the AppStore. If you're an RPG lover, you can't pass the critically acclaimed
Ravensword.
However, if you've already got it and have made your way throughout the title, you should be well into this interview by now. Check it out below for a few details on the next installment...

One of the latest games Chillingo has released is 'Monster Mayhem' developed by Taplay, hitting the AppStore only 2 days ago. The game has commonly been compared with other hit titles such as ZombieSmash and Plants vs Zombies. Nonetheless this is definitely an original game where attack is literally the best form of defence. Hit the jump for a full interview...

Another interview to add to our long list this week is with
Asbjoern Soendergaard, the producer of upcoming Pet Simulator '
Pocket Creatures'. It's a simple 3D game where you control and care for a pet in a wide environment using various tools and gestures.
To emphasize how wide the environment really is, they're also making an iPad version of
Pocket Creatures. Both have been submitted to the AppStore so you should see them appear soon.
Later this week we'll also have a hands-on article coming up, but if you can't wait and need to know as much information about the game, just hit the jump for the full interview (and a few screenshots at the end)...

Full football/soccer games are a somewhat rare species on the App Store, which is a horrible experience for me, being a huge football fan. Not to worry though, I've been in contact with the
Des Gayle, the producer of
X2 Football 2010.
I've been keeping an eye on the second installment, which by the sounds of the answers below, looks to be the next greatest football experience on the iPhone. As you'd expect, there will be improved gameplay with slightly newer controls, 3GS-optimized features and a number of new animations.
Hit the break for the full interview.
