It seems Gameloft have just released their highly anticipated game, Spider-Man: Total Mayhem! In case you've been living under a rock, Gameloft is the highly acclaimed developer of titles such as Let's Golf 2 and  N.O.V.A. and this seems to be the next installment in their series of games. We knew it was arriving this month, but we didn't expect it to arrive this early.  On the day of Apple's media event, many of you would have guessed that EA would announce their rooftop-running game and it's release on-stage (that is, if they will show up at the event).   It was first spotted earlier this year for the iPad, but now after several excuses and delays - EA have released it for the iPhone.

MoreGames and Chillingo released Quest of Knights Onrush as a promotional game for their tower defense game - Knights Onrush - but the minigame alongside it turned out to be just as good as the game they were promoting. That game, a side scrolling beat 'em up, has now been turned into a game of its own and it now available to purchase on the App Store - meet Knights Rush. The game is available for $2.99 and comes in at 90mb.

Just less than two months ago had Archetype hit the AppStore with booming sales, making it's name as one of the best online first-person shooters for the iPhone.  Whilst the maps were quite small upon launch, a couple of later updates bumped up the game to a much higher quality.  It supports a large team deathmatch consisting of 5 players per team.  You can use one of the few weapons left around the maps as you battle your way up the ranks over EDGE, 3G or WiFi. Earlier this month I had the chance to take a sneak peak at Craneballs Studio's side-scroller Monorace.  Whilst the concept is quite simple, I found the game surprisingly addictive.  You tap to jump from the bottom platform to the top whilst trying to dodge the bumps and spikes along the tracks.  The aim is to catch-up with the game's pace as the edge of the screen quickly catches you up. Until now, SRPG's - or Strategy RPG's - have been quite rare if not completely nonexistant on the App Store. There have been many fantastic SRPG's for consoles, like the Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics series, and with the release of The War of Eustrath, iPhone gamers can now experience the same combination of Turn Based Strategy and RPG games in one awesome package. It seems that the ‘zombie’ genre has been ongoing for the iPhone, iPod Touch & iPad following the huge success of Plants vs. Zombies by Popcap Games and Zombieville USA by Mika Mobile. However, this platform of gaming has always had its ups & downs with game after game offering the same controls and obvious objectives.

However, just recently a new app has made its way into the AppStore going by the name of Zombie Escape and has seen to offer more than the current era of ‘zombie games’. Developed Chillingo, who are also responsible for titles such as Minigore and iDracula, the objective is to help survivors of a zombie holocaust find their way to safety by leading them to extraction helicopters! Along the way, you will have to blow zombies to bits in order to create a path! As you complete mission after mission, you unlock weapons and maps. (more...)

The ever so popular Hero of Sparta II was released not too long ago and received great feedback from the whole of the world. The second installation of the Hero of Sparta series continues the story of Argos, where he finally returns to the shores of his homelands. Now the popular title has once again revved up its already impressive graphics to play the host of a even more spectacular HD version of the game for your big screen-iPad. The game should play exactly the same way as the iPhone version, one of the only huge differences being the customizable controls.   Check out our review here if you're not sure whether or not to buy Gameloft's interpretation of God of War for iPad.  It's currently available in a few countries, and should hit your store when you reach August 19th.
