During the big change to the new look, William and I have been pretty busy sorting out what needs changing, what to to add and what to discard in order to give you readers a sleeker and much simpler viewing experience.  In between all of that, there have been a few vital releases that you should all note down.  We haven’t been able to cover them on release day, so here’s our catch-up:

Let’s Golf! 2 by Gameloft [$4.99 - AppStore]

Already one of the AppStore’s greatly loved golfing titles has just gotten a sequel.  Everything in this game has seemed to be updated, from better graphics to character customization, and from interactive environments to online multiplayer – Gameloft have put a lot of effort into this game.  The content is much heavier with several different environments to unlock and progress your way through.  Online play is as sorted as you’d expect.  Implemented with Gameloft LIVE!, you can invite a friend to play or randomly match up with somebody.

Cowboys vs. Zombies by Tallchair [$2.99 - AppStore]

You wouldn’t expect this game to be a tower defense title if you’ve just seen the screenshots.  Tallchair have been advertising their latest addition to the AppStore’s tower-defense pile around the WWDC event and several other restaurants, implying how big they’d like this game to be.

You place a range of cowboys in a 3D environment down a deserted alley-like road.  Buildings are used to get higher above the zombies and shoot them with the several different guns as they approach the main cowboy.

Chopper 2 by Majic Jungle Software [$2.99 - AppStore]

Chopper was one of the most inuitive and addicting games to have landed in the AppStore, and now Majic Jungle Software have just created it’s sequel.  Much like it’s prequel, it’s an action game where you tilt (or use the touch-based controls included) to control a helicopter.

You shoot enemy tanks and the sort while avoiding a hoard of birds and saving allies.  A feature that makes this so unique is the way they’ve made it universal.  Sure, you can play it both on the iPad and the iPhone or iPod touch, but using the bluetooth feature you can control the chopper on your iPad – using the iPhone or iPod touch as the controller.
