I’ve always liked watermelons. They’re sweet, juicy and just feel so fresh in your mouth. To me, they’re perhaps the greatest fruit on the face of the earth (well, one of). But would they work in a game? Surprisingly, yes.
In this game, you have to throw watermelon skins at the enemies on the other side of a plain. Enemies will jump out from behind boxes, bushes or spiky hills depending on the level which you’re in.
You can get some sort of moon combo by making enemies consecutively bounce on watermelon peels after they’ve been hit.
To throw the peels, you can either tap the screen to through the peels straight ahead or swipe the screen to throw peels in that direction.

I found that although the swiping was the obvious control method, it was quite hard to aim exactly where I wanted the peel to go, though I’ve never really been good at that kind of aiming…
The sounds in this game are really quite good. The background music which was composed by Dan paladin (maker of music for castle crashers), really fits the game and to me, its repetitiveness actually aids the game. The sound effects are also right on and the slurping that is made when your character consumes the melon slices is just comical!
The cartoony graphics are also right on. The three different types of enemies all look right and the attacks they do also are well animated.
Overall, if you’re looking for a nice arcade experience to pass the time, this may just be the app for you. Personally, it’s not really my kind of game but I can appreciate it’s a well-made game.
