The Stunning Menu
Thunder Game Works finally let loose their amazing new game just in time for Christmas being released December 24th.
All about Trench Warfare, Trenches sets a new standard for new and original thinking. Graphically it is amazing, looking extremely smooth and beautiful, perfect for the type of game.
One thing i do love about the game is how easy it is to understand. Without ever seeing any gameplay video of the game I was able to work out the objective of the game as well as how to achieve the objective.
The only thing I didn’t realise, and now know after reading the “How To Play” was how the Field Commander worked.
Zombie Smash Rawr!
The game features a short and sexy Campaign as well as endless gameplay on Skirmish. When I say endless, I mean literally, endless Trench Warfare.
Containing 2 Skirmish modes, Battle and Zombie Horde as well as 6 Maps. You can even set the Length of the game from Short, Normal, Long and Very Long. Difficulty can either be Adaptive or set from the 3 usual levels: Easy, Normal and Hard.
When generating the Map the layout can either be Randomized or Trench numbers can be set as well as switching on or off Wires and finally particular units can be turned off for a game. With so many options to choose from, creating a Skirmish can be extremely fun.
OpenFeint is naturally the chosen scoring system, despite Argon and Plus+ now out there. The game is just simple and innovative. Nothing more.
The only thing I can think of that the game is lacking in is a Multiplayer mode. A 2 player versus mode utilizing bluetooth and WiFi could make the game more enjoyable.
Overall 5/5
- Presentation & Graphics 5/5 – Well seriously, the menus and buttons and the whole game in general are shockingly good. I’ve never seen anything better. And I’m not lying..
- Audio 4.5/5 – The music suits the game and is fun to listen to while you play. Even better are the voices. Those voices were made for this game.
- Gameplay & Controls 5/5 – Easy to understand and play. No need for an instruction manual and extremely simple. Perfect and 0 bugs. The simplicity is just awesome seeing as it’s such an original idea.
- Replay Value 4/5 – Perfect for a short bus trip or if your extremely bored and just want to mash up some zombies in skirmish. Literally play anywhere anytime. It never gets boring.
- Value For Money 4/5 - Valued at $2.99 the game isn’t expensive at all. In fact i think its the perfect price for a game like this.
