Hands-On With ‘Solomon’s Boneyard’ – A ‘Solomon’s Keep’ Prequel

This was one review i didn’t really expect to do. I first saw this app on the internet. At first, I took a look at the app and I though that this would be a great addicting game. Great graphics with a fun looking story line and gameplay. Thankfully this was exactly what I got.
The point of the game is simple. Its a bit like a game of marbles. Use your own marbles to hit the other marbles off the screen or into little holes. Of course the many other features that are included make the game more fun. There is a larger version of the standard marble that is of course stronger and will keep its place more from smaller marbles hitting it. If you get combos from hitting more than one marble, a little circle with quarters appears and it will randomly generate a reward. There is a cross which means nothing happens, a crown which means enlarge, a 100 which gives you 100 points and + which toughens your marble.
There is a simple 2 player mode where the game is exactly the same except a friend controls the opposing team. This feature is great for small trips.
The game itself is a good app for quick fun on a small bus trip. I have found the game to be a little frustrating and still I have not completed the story line.
What does the game rate?
Presentation and Graphics (4.5/5) - The game is well presented and has good looking graphics. Nothing ugly or too special but good for a game such as this.
Audio (4/5) - Simple fantasy like music and nice Knocking sounds from marbles. Sounds exactly like a good Final Fantasy Game type music.
Gameplay and Controls (3.5/5) – This is the only small fault I find in the game. In fact its not really a fault. The point is I found it a little too hard. I kept missing and knocking the balls the wrong way. I guess thats just my unskillfulness.
Replay Value (4/5) – This game is great for having some good fun with your friends. It’s always fun to have a simple 2 player game to enjoy on a trip.
Value for money (4/5) – At 99c on the US Store, the app is reasonably priced. Most simple apps such as this one are usually priced at 99c anyway. I really hope this app makes it somewhere.
Overall (4/5) – 4/5 is a generous rating. Some things that could improve the game is maybe introduce more levels than the standard 30 single player and 15 multiplayer maps. More game areas and maybe make the game easier since you can set the difficulty (1 – 3) and 1 is pretty hard for me. More features and maybe an online multiplayer would be good too. Or bluetooth multiplayer. This would make the game greater.
PROMO CODE
I’ve drawn the winner for this promo code using Random.org. I seriously have to change this review. It seems as though my friends are extremely addicted to this game. The winner was FuzzySpoon. Congratulations to him. I’ll be sending the email in a few seconds.
